To recalls an important personal experience in her life that taught her the pain of loss

The dominant impression the writer seem to be; “I stare at him and can not tear myself away. I weep, saying over and over that he is smiling, he is smiling. My heartbreak and tears echo the refrain. He is smiling—a radiant, unforgettable smile.”

3. Has the writer used a subjective or objective perspective? What makes the choice of perspective work well in the essay?

She used an objective perspective because she describe by explain how everything she saw and how she felt from them.

4. What makes the opening effective? How might it be made more effective?

The writer started by describes who she is and how innocents of her by let we know how old she was, how was her family and how she felt at that time.

5. What do you find to be most effective about the essay as a whole?

She had very well planed story and described detail and feeling; example how innocent she was, personality of her grandfather in her memory, very well describe how she knew that her grandfather died and how she felt upset in her childhood.

She often used sensory images, for example As the bull is led away into the boma, people enter the room that has been emptied of furniture.
