It’s time to start taking care of our planet.


Now I live in San Francisco downtown area. After I came to San Francisco, I found that restaurants and shopping malls in my environment seriously leave different kinds of waste into different kinds of garbage bins.





We also have different groups of people respond on difference kinds of garbage too. It makes me realize that I separately trash different kinds of stuff into the right garbage bin.


It’s better to understand the kind of materials that enter and leave your home, office, or school, consider conducting a waste audit. Separate your waste categories. Weigh the different kinds of material flows that go out the door (landfill waste, organic compost, aluminum, recyclable plastic, reusable material, etc.).

One day I bought some snacks from Walgreen nearby my place, when I paid for my stuffs; a cashier put my stuffs into the green bag and told me that I could reuse it the next shopping. I felt agree to use that bag because I knew that I could decrease plastic garbage to save environment. After that I always put my purchased stuffs into my own bag instead of getting a new one.





I also use a water filter and reusable container to reduce disposable plastic bottles. I start doing this after I got information from the internet that we could recycle 100 bottles/second but we discarded 840 bottles/second. Can you imagine how much is it? I feel that it’s not too hard to bring water from home instead of buy a new bottle. We can reduce plastic bottle to save the environment and also save money.
I reduce my electricity use by unplug my cell phone charger, TV and other electronics whenever I do not use them because the energy is wasted when they are plugged in and on standby. The process can be made easier if you have everything plugged into a surge protector with its own switch. I turn off lights and other energy-sucking devices when they are not being used. If I leave my computer for a while, put it on stand-by, I will be able to restart it quickly in order to use less energy than shutting it down and then restarting it.

In holiday season, I always give a gift certificate or buy a green service like a Zipcar membership or find items that are made or grown locally, items manufactured from recycled materials, durable items that will not be trashed soon.


There are so many ways to go green. You can start to preserve the limited amount of natural resources that we have today, so that the earth can continue to provide. Please help us saving energy, reduce garbage landfills that growing beyond capacity, and reduce pollution that emission greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. It’s the way that we can against global warming. Just do it for yourself and someone that you love. Start from today, it’s not hard as you think.

Analytical Essay

My Lovely Nephews

I am the second from the last one of my generation, so almost all of my
generation’s already have family. Two of my older sisters and one of my cousin have child. Now I have nephews who are one and a half years old, six months old, and two
months old.











I was in the operating room with my cousin while she gave birth to
her baby. I can feel how wonderful of this period of life is, period from birth to those first few hours. I felt like he was a moveable doll.






On that day, I found that one of the first basic behaviors is sucking. After the nurse cleaned my nephew, she carried him to my cousin. He stopped crying after he was with my cousin. The nurse wanted my cousin to started feeding her son. I saw my nephew open his mouth and put his face on my cousin’s breast and know how to suck milk automatically. Sometimes if he is going to cry, he will be quiet after we put a pacifier or finger into his mouth.
The first time that I carried my nephew, I was so afraid because it was my first time to carry a baby and he still had weak neck muscles. My brother-in-law show me how to carry him safely. I found that it was not very hard to carry him and I could carry him with one hand because he was so small at that time.
I read about development of infants. I liked to compare what they said with my nephews. For example, the book said “The newly born infant enters the world with an impressive array of physical and sensory capabilities. Initially, his behavior is mostly limited to reflexes that enhance his chances for survival”. It is exactly the same, my nephew was closing his eyes and putting his hand to cover his eyes under bright lights when he was only a one-week baby. My nephew usually cried when he was uncomfortable, hungry, sick, or needs some physical attention but when he was in a good mood for example, after he was feeding and changing diaper, I liked to holding, cuddling, talking to him. He will smiling and trying to talk to me too. I can see his development every time I see him. I see a lot of advantages of article that I read because we can know what we should do to encourage my nephew’s each month-by-month development.
Now my mom takes care of my second nephew in Louisiana. I can tell that she was very happy because she always talking about my nephew with happy smiling and laughing in every times that I called her. I also like to see my nephew’s pictures and videos, I also uploaded its on my Facebook. When I have nothing to do or want to relax. Its makes me so happy and never feel bored in its.
